18 Month Unlimited Mileage Warranty

About Our Batteries

We have put a lot of time into testing and perfecting the process that we use to recondition the hybrid batteries that we sell. To understand what it takes to properly recondition a hybrid battery you have to know a little bit about them. Toyota designed the batteries for the second generation Prius with 28 individual modules that are connected together in series to create the 202 Volt battery that's in your car. Every time you turn your car on the car's computer analyzes the voltage in each of those modules. It only takes one of these modules failing to keep your car from working. There are companies and individuals out there who "recondition" batteries by only replacing the failed modules and then reselling the battery pack. It's true that this will work for a little while but the problem is that there are still several other modules in the pack that are weak and are going to fail in the near future.

So what makes our batteries the best? We disassemble every battery and recondition each module individually and we only reuse those that have a capacity and load performance that is 90% of what they were when new. This is all done using commercial grade computerized battery chargers and analyzers. After a battery is reassembled it goes thru a balancing period that ensures that every module has the same voltage and will charge and discharge evenly. It's because of our very thorough reconditioning process that we can give all of our batteries an 12 month unlimited mileage warranty. We take a lot of pride in our product and we guarantee that you will be happy you chose us for your battery replacement.

About Our Installation

We don't just install your new battery. Because we want to ensure that your replacement battery lasts as long as possible we will clean and test your batteries cooling fan and all of the ducting that goes with it. We have found that the leading cause of battery failure is overheating. Not only does overheating cause your battery to fail, it also causes your cars computer to rely more on the gas engine than the electric motor which causes your gas mileage to go down. Your auxiliary battery will be tested as well and we can replace it if needed.

Most of the time we can get to you within 24 hours from the time you contact us. A typical installation takes 1 to 2 hours and we can do it almost anywhere.

About Texas Hybrid Batteries

Texas Hybrid Batteries is owned and oprated by Matt Sauer and Max Barefield. We share a background in nuclear and electrical engineering, and commercial power generation/distribution. In addition we are both lifelong automotive mechanics and enthusiasts. The idea for Texas Hybrid Batteries came about because we both own hybrid vehicles and recognized a growing need for dependable battery replacement options other than the dealership. In fact the first two batteries that we built were installed in our personal vehicles and they are still operating there today.
